She Loves Her Horses | {Portraits}

So a few days ago I got to go take some pictures of a friend of mine and her horses.

Horses that are, obviously, absolutely gorgeous.  She adores them and I now see why. :)

Between her and her sister they have four horses (one isn't pictured), and as we kept taking pictures I just kept falling in love with them.  Chip (the first pictured and the black one) never failed to walk up to the camera, oftentimes looking straight at it.  We had to work around some bright sunlight, but soon after we started the sun started setting.  It added so much to the pictures, giving a "dreamy" feel to them.

Anyway I thought I would share, well, because I couldn't help it.  :)  In my opinion they could be some of the sweetest (and most beautiful horses) I have seen. :)

Have a great day!

Picnic with the Kiddos...

A few weeks ago, Ryan and Ashlyn wanted me to come with them on a picnic and have a photo-shoot.  Even though I have many pictures of Ryan and Ashlyn, I had never actually designated an actual "time" for them (for some reason, they think I am some kind of professional photographer, so they are always asking if I will "photograph" them. :-))

So we drove to the back and brought a blanket, the teacups, a few books, and just spent a few hours reading, having fun, and taking pictures.

Here are a few photos from that afternoon. :-)

I may be a little biased, but I think that I have some pretty adorable siblings.  Not to mention photogenic. :-)  Aren't they cute?

Have a blessed day!

For Christy & Stephen | {Wedding}

So this past Saturday I had the wonderful privilege to shoot another wedding.  This time it was for a good friend of mine that I have known forever.

Well, not exactly forever, but for a long time.  She and her sisters used to babysit my siblings and I, and when I grew older, I would look to their examples when I did my own babysitting jobs.  Even when they didn't babysit me anymore, they always tried to act like older sisters towards me: encouraging me with my walk with the Lord, my brothers and sisters, parents, and many other areas.  So, it was incredibly special for me to be able to take their photos.

Christy & Stephen--Thank you so much for trusting me to take your wedding pictures.  I was so blessed to do it, and I will be praying for you guys as you start your new life together.

Here are a few of the photos from the wedding...

Again, I was so blessed to have this experience!

Kristin

P.S. The little writing you see on the photos sometimes is my new official name, Daughter of Him Photography. :-)

A Little Concert

That just so happens to be a Steven Curtis Chapman Concert.

*cue applause*

Just kidding, you don't have to applaud, but we did get to go to the concert.  It was a part of the Songs & Stories tour that had Steven Curtis Chapman, Josh Wilson, and Andrew Peterson.

It. Was. Awesome.
...and amazing
...and many other synonyms I can't think of right now.

I took a few pictures, and if it is okay, I want to post a few (read: twelve).  I know, that is a lot of pictures, but some are for a friend, and I couldn't limit it down to any more. :-)

Nathan & Ashlyn, on the way to the church where the concert was.
Sweet Ryan.  Happy and cheerful. :-)
(from left to right) Andrew Peterson, Steven Curtis Chapman, Josh Wilson singing "Do Everything."
Josh Wilson playing "Amazing Grace"
Andrew Peterson playing "World Traveler"
Steven Curtis Chapman singing "Long Way Home"
Sharing stories.
SCC "When Love Takes You In" (I just have to say as a side note that it was so moving and beautiful when he sang and played it.  They showed the video when they adopted their first little girl while he sang and it made me cry.  It was soo sweet.)
Of course, right after he sang "When Love Takes You In," he played "Cinderella."  Tears kept running down my face.  Again, it was beautiful.
I think they were playing "Diving In."  It was SO great!  Everybody was on their feet singing like crazy and clapping.  It was amazing.
The three singers with the band right after the end of the last song.
The "bow."  Again, the crowd was going nuts.  It wasn't to overpowering though. :-)
It was such an amazing experience.  It was my first ever (non-classical) concert to go too, it was the greatest ever.  :-)

Have a blessed day!

Kristin

Fun with the Kids

A few weeks ago I was babysitting for a family we know, when I decided to pull out my camera.  All the girls were playing so well with their jump-ropes, that I couldn't help taking a few snapshots of them.  These are some of the sweetest girls to take care of, plus they're lots of fun to be around!

Miss Vivian: Just keep practicing, you'll get it, I promise. :)

Lil' Miss "Milly" or Amelia: I hope you like me now. ;)
Miss Sophia: You are such a great help to me.

(You are too Jacob, I just don't have a picture of you ;). Keep making movies by the way. ;))

I am so glad I get to babysit.  I love doing it so much!

One of the best memories I have of babysitting was when one young boy came up to me and said: "You know Kristin, you'll make a great Mommy one day." Statements like that mean so much more to me than even the money.  I hope and pray that one day I will get to be a Mommy. Even though I know it's harder than I could imagine, it is so worth it.

(Plus, if I am half as good as my mom, I think I 'd probably be pretty good. ;) Love ya Momma.)

Have a blessed day!

Our New Little Addition...

We think he's pretty cute. :) We still haven't decided on what to call him, but we have a few choices picked out. He is a Great Pyrenees puppy, so this little guy will be big when he grows up. :)  Nathan paid for him with his own money, he has been searching and searching for a dog for a long time.  He is so happy we found this little guy.

Have a great day!

In Him,
Kristin
